The WHO Collaborating Centre for Maternal and Child Health Trieste – based at the IRCCS Burlo Garofolo - is looking for an enthusiastic researcher with experience in academic writing research in the maternal or newborn/child field, for different projects in collaboration with OMS and UNICEF.

Essential requirements
1. Degree in medicine, or other disciplines related to health/epidemiology, including biostatistics
2. Experience in academic writing, with at least 10 peer-review papers are first or last name
3. Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English

Preference will be given to candidates with the attributes listed below.
• Previous experience of research in maternal or newborn or child health (MNCH), and/or on topics related to quality of care and/or health system research
• A strong personal motivation for an academic career in MNCH
• A post-graduate degree/studies in Maternal and Child Health and/or Clinical Epidemiology, Methods of Health Research, Public Health and/or Children’s Rights or other related fields.
• Previous experience of collaboration with WHO/other UN agencies.
• Capacity to raise funds for research projects.

The salary will be based on the candidate profile, as for the current regulations at IRCSS Burlo, and may include, for senior researchers, a part time job.
